Outside Sales Representative – Des Moines, IA
Position Title: Clear Air Outside Sales Representative.
This position will be based in Des Moines, IA, out of our Corporate Headquarters, and will serve the Iowa region.
Primary Purpose and Function:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration by effectively selling CAES services. This position will personally contact and secure new business accounts and customers. The ideal candidate will be an active, energetic, organized professional who presents well and excels at breaking the ice with new people in person every day.
Responsibilities:
- Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business.
- Makes telephone calls, sends emails, conducts in-person visits, and delivers presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Research sources for developing prospective customers.
- Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
- Coordinates sales effort with operation team and accounting.
- Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers, highlighting profile, share, and value opportunities.
- Identifies advantages and compares the organization’s products/services.
- Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
- Participates in trade shows and conventions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum education Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Proven sales experience, Industrial Background Preferred
- Track record of over-achieving quota.
- Familiarity with different sales techniques and pipeline management.
- General understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and processes.
- Computer use competence.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and driven.
